The City of Cincinnati is one of the oldest cities in Ohio, located in the southwestern corner of the state. Sternwheelers and other riverboats brought cargo and passengers in the early 1800s, and the region grew to become a major trading post. Transcontinental railroads brought more commerce and industry to the Cincinnati area, which led to a railroad being built and owned by the city - the only city to do so. This area bordering Kentucky also played an important role during the Civil War as a stop along the Underground Railroad. |

When they are not working in this successful business center, residents enjoy many cultural and entertainment activities that include watching the Cincinnati Reds, riding roller coasters at Paramount Kings Island, exploring plant and animal life at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens, or visiting many of the other museums and parks in the area. Many activities are also available "across the river" in Kentucky.
